As a child, John Co was cleaning scuff marks off the back of his parents' car's front seat using a chemical liquid while his parents entertained friends inside their apartment. After getting dizzy, he sat up and rolled down the window for fresh air, then returned to work. The last thing he remembers is passing out with his face falling onto the cleaning rag. The chemical, also used to clean typewriters, caused him to lose consciousness from the fumes.
During his unconscious state, John had what he describes as a dream so real it remained vivid throughout his life. He found himself at least forty inches above and behind the car at an angle, looking down at the driveway where he saw his father straddled on top of him giving artificial respiration. Their friends were standing by, though his mother was not visible (presumably having gone to call an ambulance). From this out-of-body perspective, he observed his father attempting to revive him. Following this scene, John floated in space and traveled past three very bright moon-like uninhabited planets, each full of large craters. He believes he has guardian angels who helped him survive, and that perhaps the angels were their friends who had been about to leave but wanted to see the new car, leading to his rescue. John kept this experience secret for years, feeling no one would believe him. To this day, he cannot stand the smell of that chemical and maintains that the experience was absolutely real. --- Biblical Summary --- Biblical elements: The out-of-body experience aligns with biblical concepts of the spirit being distinct from the body.
