Heather was freebasing cocaine when she seized and experienced clinical death. She left her body and observed herself seizing with graphic, unpleasant visualizations. While unconscious, she was told by a voice to envision a rope and climb up it. She found herself at the bottom of a deep black pit or tunnel with light at the top. She physically felt herself climbing the rope toward the light, understanding it was a choice to return to life. Upon reaching the top, she regained consciousness. This NDE opened a door to many subsequent spiritual experiences over the years, including messages from God and Buddha in dreams, contact with her deceased grandmother through dreams and automatic writing, clairvoyant experiences, and extensive synchronicities. The experience fundamentally altered her spiritual awareness and psychic sensitivity.
