Guy suffered a major heart attack while shoveling snow on February 2, 2008. Initially feeling something snap in his chest, he continued working before experiencing severe symptoms including nausea, jaw pain, and electrical sensations across his chest. His customer Maureen, a heart attack survivor, recognized the signs and administered nitroglycerine and aspirin before calling an ambulance. At the hospital, after telling his wife April he loved her and apologizing, all color drained from his body in a gray line from feet to head. He flatlined for approximately one minute. During clinical death, he traveled away from April at incredible speed with a whooshing sound, watching her shrink to a speck. He experienced the most beautiful sensation beyond words - absolute peace, warmth, and pure love enveloping him. Though aware he was dead, he thought "this isn't bad" and felt torn between not wanting to leave family yet not wanting to leave this perfect peace. Medical staff resuscitated him with multiple defibrillator shocks. The cardiologist who inserted three stents later confirmed his death and validated his experience as similar to many others. Two years later, he still vividly recalls the emotions and has no fear of death, though he's not rushing toward it.
