Amanda S suffered a pulmonary embolism at 34 weeks pregnant on December 11, 2001. A foot-long clot caught in her heart caused her to code repeatedly over three hours despite resuscitation attempts. She went into DIC (disseminated intravascular coagulation) and was placed on life support. With organ donation team and chaplain present, expecting death, she experienced an NDE.
Two angelic figures appeared doing figure-8 patterns above her body, working to take her soul. She felt herself rise above her body and could breathe again, surrounded by white-silver light. She felt safe, peaceful, and free from worries. She could see herself on the table with people running around frantically. She tried to tell the doctors she was okay but no one could hear her. The moment her husband moved beside her and held her hand, the light switched off like a light switch and she returned to her body. She woke in ICU weeks later. Her twins also had to be revived. Amanda no longer fears death, believes she was in the "waiting room" of the spirit world, and believes in spirit guides who greet us when we cross over. --- Biblical Summary --- Biblical elements: Angelic beings present during near-death crisis, out-of-body experience, divine light, peace surpassing understanding, and the power of loving human connection (husband's touch) calling her back align with biblical themes of angels ministering and love's spiritual power.
