Frank P experienced an NDE on June 13, 2009, during a massive heart attack where he coded three times in the emergency room. While on the table, he asked if he was receiving anesthesia and was told to try to stay awake. He suddenly fell back and was completely surrounded by an energy of white light unlike any color he had seen on Earth - it did not hurt his eyes to look at it. He felt completely relaxed with no thoughts of family or past, somehow knowing he was in the place others had described. A male voice asked him "Frank, do you want to go with me or go back?" Without hesitation, he said "go back." He immediately felt the shock of the defibrillator paddles enter his right chest and cross to the left, causing him to pop up into a sitting position. The doctor asked if he was okay, and he said yes. His next memory was waking up 24 hours later in the ICU, spending two days on a ventilator. Initially afraid to sleep fearing he would die and not return, he spoke with a priest and his wife about the experience. He came to realize that dying doesn't hurt and that we go to a wonderful place he was privileged to see.
