In July 2000, Danielle was being strangled by a man and tried to resist with all her strength but wasn't strong enough to break free. As she was losing consciousness, she experienced a profound life review where she saw her life flash before her eyes. She also had visions of her parents and children in the future experiencing sorrow over her death. At that moment or perhaps a second later, she felt herself leaving her body.
She found herself being sucked through a dark tube toward a bright light at the end. The experience was incredibly liberating with an ultimate feeling of love and freedom, and most notably, no fear and no pain. Before reaching the light, she stopped and saw her deceased grandfather peek over the edge. She wanted to continue toward the light and be "there," but her grandfather became very angry, looked at her sternly, and shouted "It's not your time yet, you have to go back!" At that very moment, whether her attacker felt something or her grandfather helped with certain powers, the strangler released his grip on her throat and she returned to her body. The experience has profoundly changed her - she is no longer afraid of death, has become a much stronger woman, and knows her deceased grandparents protect her. She feels their presence and has complete faith that she will be sent back if it's not her time.
