During labor, Cynthia received an epidural that froze her body too high above her heart, causing cardiac arrest. The room faded away and everything went sparkling white, as if blinded by strong light. She could hear everything, including the nurse on the phone requesting medication. She felt like she was floating on a white cloud with an amazing sensation. When she returned to her body, she was hooked up to monitors with an oxygen mask, gasping for air.
