During September 2008, Ben underwent his twelfth angiogram for his bad heart. While lying on the procedure table watching monitors as the doctor inserted a catheter through his groin into his heart, he suddenly found himself standing, feeling strong and normal without drugs or weakness. All around was indescribable light - good, warm (not like heat), thick and textured (not like fog). As his mind cleared, he began moving toward an outline ahead, difficult to describe. Then he returned to his body with a nurse slapping his cheek. The nurse asked "Did you see anything?" but Ben, overwhelmed, replied "I just had a dream." He had been down for many minutes, requiring crash cart and defibrillation to restart his heart. Despite the simple appearance, each moment was rich with experience and feeling. The light's nature was profound - he felt awake, strong, and alive. Time seemed different, not linear. He sensed he could see forever, though the light blocked seeing more. Even without sounds, he knew he could hear greatly. He felt concern, excitement, peace, strength, love, and warmth.
