Seventeen-year-old Amanda developed sepsis following an abortion procedure in March 1997, leading to pulmonary embolism and life support for four days. While on life support, she found herself sitting cross-legged in bright white light that enveloped everything except herself. She could see from every angle simultaneously and wore a white toga-like robe. Behind her was a thin, paper-like wall with a honeycomb pattern emanating white light. She existed both in her body in meditation pose and as aware energy in the space. She felt gathering energy for an unknown task. A male voice said "It's time to go back now" with an outstretched hand. Upon contact, she returned to her body. This corresponded with her spouse saying "Hello" instead of goodbye at her bedside. She made a miraculous recovery, ripping out tubes, after family had been called to say farewell.
