Anne was hit by a car while riding her bicycle on July 2, 1979. She recalls riding down a gravel road and seeing a large beautiful tree with brilliant light behind it. The tree appeared radiant with clearly visible leaf details and trunk markings. She was amazed by the beauty and turned to shout to her friends to look at the tree, but then saw they had stopped and were leaning over someone on the ground. She told herself to go back as someone had been hurt. She then woke in an ambulance. Later investigation revealed no such tree existed in that location, and the overcast evening sun would have been behind her, not in front creating the light effect she witnessed.
