William experienced his third NDE in 1991 from a ruptured appendix (previous NDEs in 1973 and 1976). During his passage through a tunnel of light, he sensed spirits in the shadows who felt unworthy to look into the light due to religious indoctrination and guilt from their earthly actions. He arrived at a beautiful garden and had extensive conversations with Jesus, receiving a physical hug from him and feeling his body. He met deceased friends who had died in a car accident (including the drunk driver who killed them, who was forgiven). William was shown Earth's brilliant blue aura made from all living souls. He was in a room with a wheel on the floor and pillars with ancient ones, experiencing heightened consciousness. He chose to return after being told things he had set in motion would continue but he wouldn't enjoy them if he stayed. Post-NDE, he left Mormonism for Wiccan beliefs, recognizing both a Heavenly Father and Mother. He developed enhanced psychic abilities and understanding of multiple religions.

--- Biblical Summary ---

Biblical elements: Direct encounter with Jesus Christ, experience of divine love and forgiveness, heightened spiritual awareness, meeting deceased beings, beautiful otherworldly realm, and conscious choice to return. The forgiveness shown to the drunk driver reflects Christian mercy.

Unbiblical elements: Adoption of Wiccan/Pagan beliefs post-NDE, belief in Heavenly Mother as co-creator, rejection of traditional Christian theology about salvation and judgment, universalist views that all religions lead to God, and enhanced psychic/occult practices including Reiki.
