William was involved in a motorbike accident where he sustained a terrible back injury and was lying in a field. He was transported by ambulance but went into ventricular fibrillation (VF) and experienced clinical death. During his NDE, he found himself in a glass lift that opened into a cubic, white, relaxing greeting area. To his left, he observed people of all ages standing in line, including infants, adults, and even a tree. In front, he saw someone in a white robe and a modern soldier kneeling with a weapon, with a bright circular light (18-24 inches diameter) between them. Realizing where he was, William heard his name being called from a corner where there was a swirling cloud with lightning. Wanting to return to his wife, he moved toward the calling. He heard German medical staff say "We have VF" and awoke to see the emergency doctor and paramedic cutting his leathers. He then went into a coma with terrible nightmares before recovering.
