Tommy was performing welding repairs inside a chipper throat at a Louisiana mill when exposed electrical wire contacted the wet metal trough. Being soaked with sweat, electricity entered through his arm and stomach, causing him to suffocate and his heart to stop. He was dead for approximately 7-10 minutes before being found and revived. Unable to breathe or call for help, Tommy began praying to God. He then saw a tunnel of white light drawing closer and experienced complete peace without pain. He briefly awoke in the ambulance vomiting and saw angels attending him dressed in white, though nurses later confirmed they wore purple scrubs. While unconscious at the hospital, he observed himself from above the table with his wife holding his hand, covered with ice, with doctors and nurses working on him.
