Tom had a severe car accident when his right front tire blew out at 80 mph, causing multiple rollovers. He has no memory of the accident itself but vividly recalls hovering overhead watching EMTs try to revive him. It took firefighters nearly an hour to extract him from the car. While out of body, he felt no pain or fear and followed himself from the ambulance down the hospital corridor. He observed specific details including a male EMT with a tattoo on his upper forearm performing CPR, which he could draw. His injuries included broken pelvis, ribs, both legs, brain lacerations from hitting the door column, torn ear, and intestinal damage. He watched himself have a seizure while covered in blood. The scene then backed away like a camera pulling back, and he experienced incredible happiness and elation.
