In August 1982 in Oklahoma, the experiencer was hit by a speeding car while crossing a four-lane street. She slammed into the bumper, slid up the hood, hit the windshield, flew over the car, and landed on her head. She experienced sudden intense pain and knew she was dying, crying out to God for help. She felt herself expanding like filling with air, then floating and racing upward as pure consciousness. She found herself surrounded by a luminescent blue field unlike any earthly blue, with golden glow on the periphery, recognizing it as heavenly. Just as she realized she was dead and going to heaven, she heard "Ooops" and felt pressure on her head, being funneled through a pipe and falling back with a painful thump. She returned to her body lying on hot August asphalt, initially thinking she was in hell due to the burning sensation. Remarkably, despite the severe impact, she suffered only concussion, scalp wound, and various abrasions with no broken bones.
