During a diabetic coma in February 2009, Lee experienced an extraordinary cosmic journey. He instantly shot out of his body as some kind of energy, flying away from Earth at phenomenal speed. He flew away from the solar system, then saw bunches of stars like galaxies flying away from him. These seemed to bunch together into huge packs that appeared to be separate universes. He sensed a force or energy out there way bigger than anything we know and had an enormous sense of understanding the meaning of life. At that moment of realization, thinking "So that's why we are here!", he shot back at phenomenal speed and came round from the coma.
Throughout the experience, he maintained heightened consciousness and alertness. He didn't feel like he was looking through eyes but had incredibly vivid perception. There was no sound during the journey. He felt excitement, understanding, shock, and felt truly alive. He experienced incredible peace and joy, feeling united with the world and suddenly understanding everything about the universe. While he gained special knowledge about the purpose of existence, the specific understanding frustratingly eluded him upon return - he remembered feeling the understanding but couldn't articulate what he had learned. Lee describes his view of life after death as going somewhere way beyond planet Earth, with our energy possibly passing to another dimension or different universe. He'd never heard of this type of extreme cosmic NDE before, going far beyond typical reports of seeing Earth from space. The experience felt more real than life itself and has left him with a surreal sense and peace about death, knowing there's something huge beyond our physical existence. --- Biblical Summary --- Biblical elements: The experience of transcending physical reality and gaining cosmic understanding could align with Paul's experience of being caught up to the "third heaven" (2 Corinthians 12:2-4), where he heard inexpressible things.
