In April 1972, Lisette was hitchhiking and needed to cross Highway 132. Despite her friend telling her to run fast, she decided not to run and stepped onto the roadway. She was hit by a speeding car whose driver she could see had blue eyes. Upon impact, she felt herself lift into the air as if taking a giant leap. She saw a butterfly flying nearby and, being a butterfly lover, was looking at it and laughing while feeling an indescribable sense of well-being. A presence was with her, talking and laughing together. She was prevented from looking down and was unaware of what was happening below, where her friend later told her she was bloodied under the car.
The euphoric experience gradually changed - colors disappeared, she began seeing in black and white, then images vanished entirely leaving only sounds. She followed the presence with unconditional trust as they approached a group of presences whose voices she could hear. One asked "What's SHE doing here? She mustn't go on; she has to be sent back." An authoritative voice said it wasn't her time and she had to go back urgently, followed by a countdown. The presence accompanied her back, giving her the impression of jumping into the air. She returned with her body running next to her friend who was crying with his face in his hands. When she took his hands away saying "COUCOU," he told her what had happened - how she had been hit and bloodied under the car. Looking at the car about a hundred feet away, she could see the driver searching for her underneath. They fled to catch the subway.
