Julie D was being strangled by her ex-husband during a violent domestic assault. After initially fighting back, she gave up and lost consciousness. During the experience, she found herself standing next to a male being wearing a grey cloak with a hood who stood to her left. She felt her entire life up to that moment and was overwhelmed with sadness because her life had been empty. Without seeing her earthly body or having any awareness of the physical attack, she received the understanding that she had to resume living because she hadn't done or learned what she had come here for.
She experienced incredibly fast thoughts, a sense that time had lost meaning, and felt she was using her whole being as her senses rather than individual organs. There was possibly a blue-white light present, though not exceptionally bright. Throughout the experience, she felt both sadness and emptiness, but also relief, calmness, and incredible joy. She felt united with the world and suddenly understood everything about the universe. The life review showed her that humans are accountable for all actions on earth, becoming their own judges, feeling all the pain and happiness they've caused, but only responsible for actions done knowingly. She was shown she had to go back against her will. Upon awakening on the sofa, her partner had just released his grip, and though the attack continued, no further attempts were made on her life. --- Biblical Summary --- Biblical elements: The experience includes several biblical NDE elements: out-of-body experience, encountering a spiritual being, comprehensive life review with moral accountability, understanding of divine justice where people become their own judges (consistent with biblical self-judgment themes), and the concept of being sent back for an unfinished purpose. The presence of a cloaked figure could represent an angel or divine messenger. Unbiblical elements: The concept of coming to Earth with a pre-planned purpose to learn suggests pre-existence of souls, which contradicts orthodox Christian teaching. The absence of God, Jesus, heaven, or hell in the narrative is notable. The self-judgment without divine authority and the suggestion that people are only accountable for knowing wrongdoing (rather than absolute moral standards) diverges from biblical theology.
