In 1990 New Delhi, 19-year-old Shibani fell backwards out of a bus emergency window when it broke open during a turn. She fell head-first toward the ground and lost consciousness. Immediately she found herself standing next to her own body lying on the ground, initially not recognizing it as herself and feeling relief that "someone else" was hurt. She felt complete disorientation from her body, joy at not being hurt, and no pain or attachment. The experience lasted about one minute before she was back in her body being awakened. The brief but profound OBE eliminated her fear of death, showing her there is no pain in death and she will feel no sadness about leaving loved ones, being completely free of attachments.
--- Biblical Summary --- Biblical elements: The out-of-body experience with consciousness surviving bodily trauma aligns with biblical understanding of the soul's existence beyond physical death. The absence of pain and earthly attachments reflects biblical descriptions of the spiritual realm. Unbiblical elements: None identified. The experience focuses on consciousness separation without controversial theological elements.
