Cindy Q had recently lost her ex-husband to lung cancer, with whom she remained very close. Before his death, she asked him to send her a sign about what the afterlife was like. Having been interested in the dying process since childhood, she prayed for her ex-husband to show her a vision of death as she went to sleep. She then experienced what she believes was her own temporary death.
She felt her breath leave her body and had no movement or motion. Thinking "this must be it," she floated approximately three feet above her body and looked down at herself. She appeared white as a sheet and clearly dead. The realization of being dead spread over her as she observed her lifeless body below. Her immediate concern was for her children who had just lost their father - she thought what a tragedy it would be for them to lose their mother too. She desperately wanted help and thought if her husband could come in and punch her in the chest, she would be okay. She tried repeatedly to yell for help but no words came out initially. Eventually, she managed to return to her body and get out a garbled plea for help. Her current husband ignored her calls, having heard her yell in her sleep before. She personally believes her heart stopped beating during this experience. The experience has made her very spiritual, and she now collects religious items like miraculous medals and Lourdes water to remind her of the experience. --- Biblical Summary --- Biblical elements: The out-of-body experience with consciousness surviving bodily death aligns with biblical teaching about the soul's immortality.
