At age 13, Carole experienced respiratory arrest from severe asthma after three days of breathing difficulty. At the doctor's office, her lips turned blue and she stopped breathing. She experienced an out-of-body perspective, looking down at her body and wondering why everyone was scared and running around. She felt the most amazing love imaginable with incredible peace, forgiveness, and tranquility. She saw a bright white light and wanted to go to it, knowing it was a wonderful place. A voice she recognized as a higher power told her "You are not finished yet. You cannot die. There is so much more you have to do." She felt excruciating pain from CPR breaking a rib as she returned to her body. The experience transformed her from a depressed teenager to someone who felt specially chosen by God with important work to do. She now teaches nursing, helping others learn to care for people and make a difference in lives.
