On April 9, 1954, an overdue pregnant woman with the flu unknowingly took aspirin for symptom relief, unaware of the danger it posed during pregnancy. She was rushed into emergency surgery for delivery of her 9-pound son. The last thing she remembered was the doctor yelling "Come on hurry! We are going to lose them!" referring to both mother and baby. She experienced a sudden enormous loss of blood with no blood pressure, stopped breathing, and erratic heart function.
During her NDE, she rushed through beautiful rainbow-like colors before encountering her deceased paternal grandmother, who appeared beautiful in a white gown. Behind her grandmother was a veil like a lace curtain with other beings milling about. Her grandmother told her she could not stay and must return to care for her babies (she had a two-year-old as well). Despite feeling wonderful and wanting to stay, she was sent back.
