Sandra was playing basketball when everything turned dark and started spinning. She fell onto her head and heard friends calling her name before everything faded. She then experienced a strange sensation of floating and could see her friends gathered around her body, which was white and not moving. She observed from above but could no longer hear them. An intense, almost blinding light appeared, and within it she saw her paternal grandfather who had died when she was only three years old. She felt both good and worried simultaneously. She awakened in a hospital room with terrible pain in her head and chest, with her mother crying beside her. Doctors had revived her using defibrillator paddles and CPR massage. Initially thinking it was a bad dream, she learned it was real when she discovered the medical interventions performed. The experience helped her no longer fear death.
