Sara had undergone multiple knee replacement surgeries due to recurring staph infections. During her third replacement, she was given intravenous vancomycin through a central line that became dislodged, causing her lung to fill with fluid. Despite asking nurses for help with breathing difficulties all night, x-rays weren't ordered until the next morning, revealing fluid-filled lungs. When Dr. F. attempted to pull the central line after tapping the lung, blood spurted out and Code Blue was called. Sara saw a warm, beautiful light and wasn't sure if it was coming to her or she was going to it. She felt wonderful warmth and knew everything was alright. A pulmonary doctor who wasn't her physician but was known as very spiritual was holding her hand when she returned. This doctor told her family he had seen Jesus at the foot of her bed saying "It is not her time," which is when Sara squeezed his hand. She was then sent to intensive care. Multiple nurses confirmed this doctor was extremely spiritual and that if anyone would see Jesus, it would be him.
