At age 7 in summer 1956, Robert was drowning in a motel swimming pool, unable to get his head above water or grip the slippery ceramic tile border. During this life-threatening moment, he experienced an out-of-body perspective, seeing himself struggling from below and behind. This visualization continued until he finally gained a grip and pulled his head above water at the last moment.
The experience included heightened visual clarity with sharp, bright colors and a sense of time distortion where thoughts sped up but events seemed in slow motion. He felt both panic and awareness that this was an exceptional experience even as a seven-year-old. This was his first of three out-of-body experiences in life, with two more occurring in 1985 and 1989. He also developed precognitive dreams and knowing who was calling on the phone. The visual perspective was always from behind in all three OBEs. --- Biblical Summary --- Biblical elements: The out-of-body experience during near-death aligns with biblical accounts of the spirit being distinct from the body.
