Michel was in a severe car accident after running a yellow light and being hit from the left. He experienced multiple trauma with kidney removal, liver damage, bladder torn, stomach torn, lungs burst, all ribs fractured, hip fractured in 13 places. During his 5-day coma, he had an OBE where he simultaneously saw his friends 5km away saying he was late, saw them discover his wrecked car, and saw his mother crying while talking to police. His grandfather visited him in the hospital with meaningful looks. After grandfather died of cancer, he appeared to Michel before surgery saying "Everything will be alright with you and your son." Years later Michel fathered a son despite being told he'd never have an erection again, naming the child after his grandfather.
