Mary Jo experienced a cerebral aneurysm with approximately 50cc of blood in her head from a burst artery. While in severe pain and curled in a fetal position, she experienced a warm wave of energy starting from her abdomen and expanding outward, immediately eliminating all pain. She saw a brilliant light with a pink tinge and found herself in a vast space where she was held by God, an omnipotent being who spoke through all her senses. God called her by name and told her she could not stay. When she protested, citing her service on earth, God asked if she had ever loved another person the way she had been loved there. When she answered no, God said "Mary, you can do better" and sent her back. She awoke to her husband telling her about the emergency brain surgery needed. She recovered remarkably quickly from the surgery, which perplexed the neurosurgeons.
