Lois experienced a severe allergic reaction to an experimental drug (Depo Lupron) given for endometriosis treatment. After the second injection, she experienced convulsions and stopped breathing while lying on her husband's lap. During this episode, she found herself above her body, saw a bright multicolored light with pulsing rays in the corner of the room, and was drawn through a tunnel-like structure reminiscent of a birth canal. She was pulled toward the light at "hyper speed" but gasped "NO!" before reaching it, fearing she would be "reborn" and dead to her current self. She then saw three levels of people moving at different speeds - the lowest very slow, middle at normal speed, and top level so fast they became balls of light. A voice told her to "Pick one" and she chose the middle level. A deeper loving voice said "All life is important. Each and every one of us were created for a reason. We are all special." She then floated back into her body, feeling a real love for all life forms and God's creations. The drug reaction had caused severe symptoms including memory loss, migraines, and vomiting.
