During premature childbirth on October 15, 1960, Laura experienced severe hemorrhaging when the doctor pushed on her abdomen to expel afterbirth. Blood shot all over the nurse's uniform. She heard the nurse mention needing a clean uniform and doctor yelling for oxygen while she thought "Just leave me alone."
She encountered brilliant light, feeling warm and loved. A golden ladder extended into heavens disappearing into clouds with angels flitting around its base. She felt peace, happiness, and wanted to stay. Upon waking, the nurse couldn't get blood pressure readings on either arm despite trying different cuffs. The doctor noted no blood on her pad, which puzzled staff as no one had changed it. --- Biblical Summary --- Biblical elements: Brilliant divine light, golden ladder to heaven (reminiscent of Jacob's ladder in Genesis 28:12), angels present, overwhelming peace and love, desire to remain in divine presence - all strongly biblical imagery.
