During karate sparring, Larry was struck in the forehead with a spinning reverse open hand strike. He watched himself fall in slow motion from above his opponent's right shoulder. The room's light became more luminous with incredible detail - he could see individual pores and hairs with no shadows. He felt complete peace watching his girlfriend cry over his body, seeing it only as an empty shell.
He returned to his body out of concern for his girlfriend's distress. Upon waking, he didn't recognize his girlfriend or recent dojo changes, asking for his previous teacher who had left months earlier. A praying mantis entered the dojo which Larry felt was the deceased style master. Since the NDE, he can read palms and sometimes sees ghosts. --- Biblical Summary --- Biblical elements: Out-of-body experience with enhanced perception, observing own "shell" body, peaceful detachment from physical form, and return motivated by compassion align with biblical accounts of spiritual experiences and the temporary nature of physical existence. Unbiblical elements: Development of palm reading ability and seeing ghosts are practices warned against in scripture (Deuteronomy 18:10-12). The praying mantis as deceased master suggests reincarnation or spirit manifestation contrary to biblical teaching.
