Janet J experienced clinical death in 1980 during a D&C procedure following a miscarriage. Against pre-operative instructions, she drank milk from a vending machine due to extreme thirst after a long wait. When asked if she had consumed anything, she denied it to avoid further delays. Under anesthesia, she began choking on the milk, creating a life-threatening emergency as milk aspiration during anesthesia is particularly dangerous.
During her clinical death, Janet had an out-of-body experience where she floated up to the ceiling and observed the medical team working frantically on her body below. She found the floating sensation fascinating and cool. From this elevated perspective, she also saw her brother and his girlfriend in the waiting room looking worried. She wondered how they had arrived so quickly and attempted to touch them and communicate that she was alright, but found herself unable to make contact. After the crisis passed and she was revived, when her brother and girlfriend visited her room, she reached out to physically touch them and told them she had tried to touch them before during her OBE. Janet also experienced being on a hospital bed positioned beside a huge river. A group of people stood on the opposite shore, waving and calling for her to cross over to join them. Despite feeling no pain and being aware of the invitation, she declined to cross. She told them she could not come because she had two little girls who needed her care. Her maternal responsibility and love for her daughters kept her from crossing over. She felt incredible peace and unity with the universe, understanding everything with remarkable clarity during the experience. --- Biblical Summary --- Biblical elements: This experience contains multiple elements consistent with biblical accounts.
