Larry experienced loss of consciousness while driving with his wife Kathy to work on Highway 151. After pulling over twice due to dizziness, he lost consciousness in the passenger seat. During the episode, he had an out-of-body experience, hovering above the truck cab and seeing himself in a fetal position. He witnessed thousands of white Christmas tree lights, experienced profound calm, then his life passed before his eyes in rapid succession like a deck of cards - from childhood with a BB gun, to playing on an oil well, to his time in the Marine Corps. He encountered an orange and yellow ball of light and looked down a tunnel. A unique, indescribable voice told him "You've got to go back. We're not ready for you." He wanted to turn and look at the voice but couldn't.
