In summer 1992, Heather did a backflip off the deck into their pool, hitting her head and falling unconscious in the water. After initial confusion and spinning, she experienced instant calm and saw a tunnel of light that looked like looking down a wave of surf. At the tunnel's end she saw a beach, grass, and a man standing there who telepathically told her she wasn't supposed to be there yet and had a mission. She believes this was Jesus. Simultaneously, she could see the pool from about 20 feet above, looking straight down at herself. Her brother's voice snapped her back into her body. Though it happened within a minute, it seemed much longer. She has since had multiple OBEs, drowning dreams where Jesus tells her to go back, and visions of other people drowning.
