Chad was hit by a semi-truck at approximately 55 mph in the driver's door, causing his car to roll three times into a ditch. He experienced time slowing to extreme detail - seeing the GMC emblem, busted plastic grill, chrome rusted bumper, and flat windshield with top-mounted wipers. His femur was fractured, pelvis broken in five places, and he coded twice roadside. The seatbelt acted as tourniquet until cut, then he began bleeding out.
In the ambulance, Chad observed from above in a three-dimensional circle, watching his body on the cot with blood pressure dropping to 67/35 then 54/?, SpO2 at 23%.
