Curtis suffered a heart attack in September 2002 while on vacation, alone in his sister's guest room. No one found or revived him initially. He fought against dying but eventually had to let go. Upon death, he experienced a grayish dark void of infinite nothingness without fear. He felt expanding awareness, becoming everything known and yet to be known. Everything he had been taught, believed, and learned throughout life fell away as if meaningless.
During the experience, he had no concept of time or relationships to time. He was aware of being airborne without physical boundaries, existing apart from his body while dwelling within it. He encountered three beings in various stages of human evolutionary development who joked about his manner of death, saying he didn't have to die so painfully. He gained understanding that matter is formed through interconnectedness with aspects of self yet to be known, and that all is possible because everything happens in the same instant. The beings showed him future events that would occur with 100% certainty if enough people shared belief in them. When he returned against the beings' warning that he wouldn't like it, he experienced crushing chest pain. In coma for eight days, he suffered severe injuries including torn intestines, collapsed lung, torn stomach lining, and lost kidney. The prediction proved accurate - he experienced divorce, chronic pain, two heart attacks, five stents, and angioplasty over the following years. --- Biblical Summary --- Biblical elements: The experience of consciousness beyond physical death, encountering spiritual beings, receiving knowledge about spiritual reality, and understanding of interconnectedness align with biblical concepts of eternal soul and spiritual realm.
