At age 5, Claude had a ruptured appendix and was rushed to the hospital. During this life-threatening emergency at home, he experienced an NDE. An angelic being appeared to him holding a cup in one hand and a crown in the other, presenting him with a choice. Claude chose the cup. The figure had a form but communicated without exchanging words. The experience occurred before hospitalization, and Claude awakened in the hospital bed with people hovering over him, having no memory of the transport.
After the experience, Claude became a more sensitive medium, often knowing intuitively what to do. He became more reflective and religious.
