Brian was violently attacked with metal pipes and a stiletto that punctured his lung and cut an artery from his liver. Upon leaving his body, he encountered beings in darkness who told him not to go to the light. He passed through a tunnel with stars or spirits around him and met a man who guided his life review, which appeared like a model railway city below. He stood before the Creator, experiencing overwhelming love, peace, and understanding. He encountered twelve non-human beings with large heads and eyes who were there to help, with a spirit above them communicating meanings. He learned that love is the answer and that the biblical description of God doesn't relate to the true Creator. He was given a choice to live or die and shown a vision of his future son Mike with an injury, which motivated his return. He later developed psychic abilities including accurate visions of future events.
