Brian, a registered nurse, was broadsided at 55 mph and ejected from his vehicle. According to the police report, his body bounced off the other car and landed in the road. He was transported by helicopter to a trauma center with numerous injuries including closed head injury and collapsed lungs. During his near-death state, a male presence asked if he wanted to stay or come with him. Brian saw himself lying unconscious on a stretcher or bed. He chose to stay because his wife and children needed him. The being showed compassion and told him that though it would be difficult, everything would be okay in the end. There was a strong sense of peace. Despite having no memory of his month-long hospital stay due to head injury, he clearly remembers this experience and told his wife about it while still intubated on day 2-3 of hospitalization.
