Jon experienced an NDE at age 13 during a violent fight at a bowling alley. His head was being smashed between a steel-toed boot and a brick wall. Everything went black, then he found himself looking down upon the entire scene from within the top of the walls of the video-game room.
He saw an older boy pulling his attacker off him and observed two younger kids (a boy and girl) run up to the game-room window beneath him. He heard nothing during the experience. The terror he felt before blacking out was replaced by complete neutrality - observing without feeling. Notably, he experienced vision without the usual obstructions of facial features (eyebrows, nose, cheekbones) that normally limit peripheral vision. Behind him in the wall was only blackness. He saw adults from the billiard room rushing toward the game room before everything went black again. He then went in and out of consciousness on the way to the hospital. Since the experience, he has not been afraid to die. The unusual clarity of vision without facial obstructions and the neutral emotional state were the most striking aspects. --- Biblical Summary --- Biblical elements: The out-of-body experience with observation of real events aligns with biblical accounts of spiritual sight. The loss of fear of death reflects spiritual transformation common in biblical encounters. Unbiblical elements: None identified. The experience appears to be a straightforward OBE without elements that contradict biblical teaching.
