Cabell experienced clinical death during surgery in 1976 and was resuscitated. His experience was not of the mind but what he believes to be of the soul and spirit. He encountered a huge light and understood that life in the body is for learning. He was shown that when souls leave bodies at death, they continue to another dimension to learn even more without recollection of past or future. Souls remain everlasting, like newer car models improving over time. He saw a brilliant unearthly light and experienced incredible joy, peace, and unity with the universe. He received knowledge that souls are meant to learn and experience everything possible to progress to the next level after earthly life.
