John R experienced an NDE at age 7 during a severe asthma attack. After waiting at the doctor's office from 8:30 to 10:30 AM while turning blue, he was rushed to the hospital. In the elevator, his mother told him everything would be okay. He whispered "Thank you mummy" and then was drawn backwards down a tunnel at amazing speed, leaving his eyes behind like two little holes in the distance.
He arrived at a place he couldn't see but could feel, experiencing overwhelming joy and love. His "lady in white" - a being who had visited him since age 3 - welcomed him. Communication was non-verbal, through feelings. He was asked if he wanted to stay, and while he did, he understood he couldn't take back the knowledge if he returned. He spent what felt like two hours there (though only 15 minutes passed) with these non-physical beings. When he heard his mother receive news from the doctor that he had "gone" and heard her desperate cries, he became undecided. The entities smiled with understanding and he returned quickly down the tunnel (30 seconds). He took a deep breath, looked at his mother, then passed out for two days. His asthma has never been life-threatening since. He now sees this physical world as the dream compared to the clarity of that realm. --- Biblical Summary --- Biblical elements: The tunnel experience, encounter with spiritual beings, overwhelming love and joy, and transformation afterward align with biblical accounts. The concept of not being able to bring back full knowledge resonates with Paul's description of "inexpressible things" in 2 Corinthians 12. The healing from asthma could be viewed as divine intervention.
