Kara experienced an NDE during childbirth when she suffered a hemorrhage and was bleeding internally. She was semi-conscious with symptoms including high temperature and rapid heartbeat, but no visible bleeding. The pain was extreme and no doctors initially came to operate.
The most disturbing aspect was that she tended to leave her body after the experience. She described it as flying through outer space and reliving certain unresolved events throughout her life, as though she needed to let go of these things before moving to the next world. Initially, she thought it might be post-traumatic stress or that she was going crazy from the stress of having a young child. During the experience, she felt intense pain and wanted to die. Her past flashed before her, and she specifically realized that a car accident when she was 19 was not her fault. After the NDE, she constantly left her body under stress.
