Amanda attempted suicide by taking over 400 pills and was found unconscious a day and a half later. She died three times - in the ambulance and at the hospital. During one death, she found herself observing from outside her body in a hospital cubicle, seeing herself naked on a trolley with curtains open. She felt very cold and tried unsuccessfully to pull covers over herself, wandering around the nurses' station trying to make them aware of her need. She shouted without opening her mouth for someone to cover her. Her mother arrived with her husband and immediately covered her, with Amanda knowing her mother felt her anger about the situation. During another death episode, she encountered her deceased stepfather who she considered her real dad. He surrounded her with love, telling her this wasn't her time and she had to go back. Despite her reluctance and lack of strength, he assured her she would find strength and help if she asked. She felt him kiss her cheek upon waking in intensive care. Her mother later confirmed she was indeed left naked and became angry at the doctors about it. Amanda has always had psychic abilities including knowing pregnancies and reading cards since age thirteen.
