Alison, a scientist, experienced anaphylactic shock from gadolinium contrast during an MRI scan. Despite severe burning sensations throughout her body, throat swelling, and vision fading, she didn't press the panic button, fearing they would stop the test before finding her medical issue. She stopped breathing and became unconscious. During the NDE, she experienced a state of pure present-moment awareness with no past or future, only NOW. Despite being in physical agony and suffocating, she felt transcendent peace and contentment in what she described as "the void" - existence as pure Being without time. She felt complete oneness with everyone in the room, particularly the MRI technician who represented all humanity. A presence communicated that "death is just a change of mind," and she knew she would return to raise her children. The experience was more lucid than any dream and led to rapid recovery that surprised medical staff. Since then, she has developed greatly enhanced telepathic senses and empathy, able to sense others' physical pain, emotions, and thoughts.
