Will Y deliberately crashed his car into a concrete lamppost at 100 miles per hour in September 1980, attempting suicide due to complicated romantic relationships involving his pregnant wife and another lover. You can follow the light or continue on earth and face the music." To his left over his shoulder was a bright piercing light, and to his left was the voice speaking to him. Will chose to "face the music" and immediately awoke outside the car, fifty feet from the lamppost. At that exact moment, a council lamp repair vehicle with two workers appeared "from nowhere." They gave him a ride home twelve miles away, from where his wife took him to the hospital. The primary observation was seeing his lifeless body from outside the crumpled car while a voice offered him the choice between following the light or returning to face consequences. Since the experience, Will reports heightened emotional sensitivity, feeling the world's troubles and people's remorse, flooding with tears at sad events.
