Six-year-old Thomas was struck by a speeding car, thrown 80 feet, and landed on his head, resulting in a month-long coma and severe brain injury. He observed his mother crying in the ambulance from above. In the spiritual realm, he floated peacefully with beautiful singing surrounding him, then encountered a man who showed wounds on his wrists and right foot, telling Thomas to not be afraid and that he must return as it wasn't his time. The man promised to be there during Thomas's most troubling future times. Thomas was shown the crucifixion, seeing himself as a Roman soldier who stabbed Jesus with a spear after death, to which Jesus responded "Yes but I arose on the third day." He also visited a grey desolate place with dead trees where dog-like animals with human faces introduced themselves as temptations, with the largest identifying as "alcohol" - a struggle Thomas would face decades later. After recovering, mysterious marks resembling crucifixion wounds appeared on Thomas's wrists and foot during a life crisis.
