Sally F was in labor when she received a second epidural injection that caused her blood pressure to crash. She immediately felt unwell and asked her husband to call the doctor. As heart monitors alarmed and doctors rushed in trying to get epinephrine into her IV, she went from frantic anxiety to feeling sluggish and removed from the scene. Though doctors were frantically working and missing her veins with needles, she felt only about fifty percent present in her body.
At this critical moment, she saw a vision of Jesus and an Angel positioned to the right above her, like a window into heaven. Jesus appeared exactly as depicted in Catholic art - radiant with amazing colors - with his hands stretched down to the angel, who had his hands stretched down to her. She instinctively understood without words that they were giving her the "whammy to live" - throwing down life-giving vibes or energy. Both Jesus and the angel looked serious and intently focused on this project of keeping her alive. She calmly thought "Hmmm, this is interesting - they are giving me the whammy to live so that I don't die." Immediately after this vision, the doctor found her vein, administered epinephrine, and she returned fully to her body.
