Sharon D, age 21, was in a severe motorcycle accident that nearly severed her left leg, broke it in five places, and caused her to lose over 4.5 pints of blood from a severed artery. She was reported dead at the scene and it took 20 minutes for the ambulance to arrive. During three days of unconsciousness, she experienced leaving her body and having her entire life reviewed. She felt a comforting presence during the review where she was judged by the same measure she had judged others, but felt no external condemnation. Positive actions rippled into enlightenment and love for eternity, while negative ones were burned away like chaff from wheat.
She passed into brilliant light that was not visual but like the illumination of perfect understanding - "the light you experience when you have an idea that is right-on." In this light existed all knowledge of past, present and future, perfect unity and peace. She felt so loved and complete that she didn't want to return. A persistent gentle voice kept asking if she wanted to come back. Eventually, she realized how little she had contributed to this magnificent truth and wanted to help others know they are loved beyond measure. She saw herself from high in the atmosphere looking down at mountain ranges with intense colors before being "vacuumed" back into her body.
