Roland D, during his 20th year in military, had a heart attack during water survival training. He experienced two distinct NDEs. First, he felt a being lying shoulder to shoulder with him (later identified as Christ/Good Shepherd), went into darkness/void, was defibrillated and saw paramedics from below like through a manhole. Second, while ambulance was stuck in traffic, he had a bird's eye view of his ambulance from above with perfect clarity, seeing details like tan brick walls and puddles. He was in the best mood ever with sharp mental awareness. Hospital said he wasn't expected to survive. Three weeks later at church, the sermon about Good Shepherd lying with lamb triggered recognition of the being beside him.
