During emergency surgery for miscarriage with severe hemorrhage, Patricia experienced a total blackout at the time of anesthetic injection. A terrible vibration shook her throat, head, and body. She initially resisted, thinking of her young children, but heard a message that resistance would increase pain. A wave took her to a different boundary filled with shining darkness. She received a message that she would return to perform an unspecified task. She experienced unconditional love from a Living and welcoming Presence, understanding the interconnectedness of all living creatures as sparks of a Power that encompasses and dwells within us. Communication occurred through a "Voice of Silence" - messages without words. Upon return, she struggled to re-enter her body, experiencing two bodies for a time - one of light material fighting to enter a shell. A nurse later indicated she had been considered dead during surgery.
